MIAMI, Fla. -- Who Dat won the Super Bowl? The New Orleans Saints, that's who.
Ain't kidding.
Put away those paper bags forever: Drew Brees and the Saints are NFL champions, rallying to upset Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 Sunday night in one of pro football's most thrilling title games.
Brees tied a Super Bowl record with 32 completions, the last a 2-yard slant to Jeremy Shockey for the winning points with 5:42 remaining.
The Pro Bowl quarterback was chosen Super Bowl MVP.
"We just believed in ourselves and we knew that we had an entire city and maybe an entire country behind us," Brees said. "What can I say? I tried to imagine what this moment would be like for a long time and it's better than expected."

CHARLOTTESVILLE -- It's not considered one of the top recruiting classes in the ACC, let alone the Football Bowl Subdivision.
That's fine with UVa's new football coach, who did his best in difficult circumstances.
"One man's five-star [recruit] is another man's one-star," Mike London said Wednesday afternoon at John Paul Jones Arena.
"In this case, I like who we have."
After being hired in early December, London had to scramble to retain the players from whom Virginia had commitments, and, with one exception, he did so. In addition, London and his staff collected a half-dozen new commitments. Read More...

MIAMI (AP) -- In its new role as a warmup to the Super Bowl, the Pro Bowl became a series of wind sprints.
Long gains were the rule and hard hitting was the exception as the AFC beat the NFC 41-34 on Sunday night.
Light showers fell for much of the game, stirring memories of a rainy Super Bowl in Miami three years ago.
But uniforms remained mostly spotless, with more pushing and shoving than tackling.
"It's different. It was like 7 on 7," NFC linebacker Brian Orakpo said. "Everybody came out here trying not to get hurt and give the fans a good show"
Matt Schaub of the Houston Texans threw for 189 yards and two AFC scores, and was chosen the most valuable player.
"It's a game you watch growing up as a kid and wonder if you could ever be in," Schaub said. "To actually be a part of it is incredible."

Virginia had lost 63 of 68 meetings in Chapel Hill, but blew the game open by holding the Tar Heels without a field goal for nearly 8 minutes in front of a stunned Smith Center crowd.

VHSL Denies PH, FlemingThe requests by Patrick Henry and William Fleming to drop from Group AAA to Group AA beginning in 2011-12 were turned down Tuesday in Charlottesville by the Virginia High School League's Redistricting & Reclassification Committee.
Roanoke City Public Schools deputy superintendent Curt Baker filed a request to the VHSL on Jan. 19 that each school be allowed to compete in interscholastic sports and extracurricular activities at the Group AA level in a "nearby district" despite enrollments that place both in Group AAA.
Patrick Henry was listed with an enrollment of 1,898 students in the March 2009 figures that govern the current classifications. William Fleming's enrollment was listed with 1,549, roughly 20 students above the 2009 dividing line.
Patrick Henry and William Fleming will have until March 17 to file a final appeal to overturn Tuesday's decision. The R&R committee will hear final appeals April 19 in Charlottesville and submit a final alignment plan for VHSL Executive Committee approval in May.
Baker's request for PH and Fleming to compete in a lower classification was based on the academic and financial hardships of lengthy travel required to compete in the Group AAA Western Valley District.
